Dr Lisa Abbott is a specialist Dermatologist and Fellow of the Australasian College of Dermatologists. She graduated from Medicine at the University of Sydney in 2012, following previous degrees in Law, Government and Public Administration.
Lisa completed her specialist dermatology training across several tertiary hospitals in New South Wales and Victoria, including St. Vincent’s Hospital, Royal Prince Alfred Hospital and Royal North Shore Hospital, the Royal Women’s Hospital (Melbourne) and the Austin Hospital, as well as multiple regional and rural placements.
She has an interest in improving access to dermatological care in rural and regional areas through Telehealth, and is a member of the Australasian College of Dermatologists Digital Health Committee and co-author of its Teledermatology guidelines. She enjoys teaching registrars and medical students, and is a Clinical Associate Lecturer at the University of New South Wales. She has completed research and clinical trials into new treatments for psoriasis, eczema and skin cancers.
Lisa takes pride in providing warm, patient-focused dermatological care. In addition to general medical and surgical dermatology, her special interests include acne management, vulval dermatology, hyperhidrosis and treatment of inflammatory skin conditions including management with biologic agents where appropriate.
Outside of medicine she enjoys songwriting, swimming and photography.
