What is a bequest?

A bequest is a charitable gift in your Will and is a wonderful way to leave a legacy in your name or to the memory of a loved one. Making a bequest does not affect your financial position today and is a meaningful act to make a lasting difference to a purpose you believe in.

How can you help?

Each year, over 42,000 people come to us for specialist treatment and the number is growing. Approximately two in three  Australians will be diagnosed with skin cancer by the time they are 70 years old and up to 10 % of Australians suffer from some form of chronic skin disease such as eczema or psoriasis.

The Skin Hospital undertakes research into the treatments that will help people suffering from skin cancer and skin disease. We provide the vitally needed dermatology training for both doctors and nurses to ensure Australians are receiving world class standard of care. As a not for profit organisation we need donations to fund vitally important research and to support our dermatology education programs. Your support though a bequest can really make a difference and help us continue this critical work.

How to make a bequest to The Skin Hospital

Leaving a bequest is simple and easy to do. To make a bequest, you will need to have a Will. If you already have a Will, all you need to do is add a Codicil, which is an additional document used to make a minor change, amendment or alteration to an existing Will. If you don’t have a Will, we highly recommend you go to your solicitor or see the NSW State Trustee, who will be able to prepare one for you.

Why your gift is important

Your gift to The Skin Hospital will help to ensure that our team of doctors, nurses and researchers continue to provide the best treatments, care and facilities both now and in the future.

Your gift will be directed to the areas of most need which may include:

  • The treatment and care of skin cancer patients
  • Those with chronic skin conditions whose quality of life may be impacted
  • Research into skin cancer and skin diseases
  • Training the dermatologists and dermatological nurses of the future
  • Further development of world class facilities
