VISIA Skin Analysis
What is VISIA Skin Analysis?
VISIA Skin Analysis is a complexion analysis system that provides an in-depth look at facial skin. It takes a series of photographs that analyse your skin’s pigmentation spots, wrinkles, texture, pores, vascularity and porphyrins. The VISIA machine uses three types of lighting to show the different features. This includes UV lighting for features not visible to the eye, such as porphyrins and UV spots, RBX imaging to show red and brown areas, and standard fluorescent lighting for visible features on the face such as spots and wrinkles.
Why have a VISIA Skin Analysis?
The VISIA Skin analysis provides a visual of the skin and an easy-to-understand analysis of any skin issues. From here, a personalised skincare and treatment plan can be created to target specific areas. It also offers ‘before’ and ‘after’ comparisons to easily view the benefits of a skincare program.

What will my treatment plan look like?
At The Skin Hospital at Darlinghurst, we offer VISIA Skin Analysis to complement our range of dermatological services. At your first appointment, a VISIA Skin Analysis technician will complete your analysis with you and walk you through the assessment steps.
Once the scan is complete, you will receive your images and a report. If you wish, you can then book an appointment with one of our dermatologists to discuss your results and treatment options. We also recommend booking a follow up VISIA appointment in 6-12 months to monitor the progress of your skin.
Preparing for your VISIA Skin Analysis
Once you have made a booking, there is nothing more to do until the day of your initial appointment. On the day:
- Ensure that you are not wearing makeup or have any other products on your face (including sunscreen) when you come for your assessment.
- If you have come directly from work and do have make-up on, let our team know and we can cleanse your skin thoroughly prior to your assessment.
- Allow 20 minutes for the VISIA assessment.
