Dr. Gupta set up Australia’s first specialised – “Pigmentary Disorders Clinic” (PDC) for the management of conditions like vitiligo and melasma at Darlinghurst over 5 years ago. This Clinic offers comprehensive services by way of clinical assessment, medical treatment and a nurse-led camouflage clinic for disorders of pigmentation (changes in skin colour). The Clinic provides a complete range of phototherapy options with a whole body booth, hand and foot machine and the Excimer lamp device to treat vitiligo. The Skin Hospital has the largest series of patients who have undergone surgical treatment for stable vitiligo. Melasma is also treated with a combination of medical treatments and chemical peels and lasers if indicated.
This service will soon be available at the Westmead site- once a month on Thursdays, scheduled to commence in May 2019.
