Overview:Hidradenitis suppurativa remains a challenging condition for both sufferers and physicians alike. However with the rapid expansion in interest and research into HS, now more than ever we have the chance to change the disease course and patient’s lives.  Therefore, it is important to be aware of recent advances in pathophysiology and management to provide the best opportunity to support this patient population.
About the Speaker:Associate Professor Saxon D. Smith is a Fellow of the Australasian College of Dermatologists.  He is the principal dermatologist at The Dermatology and Skin Cancer Centre in Gosford and St Leonards, NSW; a staff specialist at Royal North Shore Hospital, St Leonards, NSW and a clinical associate professor at the University of Sydney.

Associate Professor Smith established the hidradenitis suppurativa clinic at Royal North Shore Hospital and has been involved in national and international education programs around HS.  He has over 60 peer reviewed journal publications and over 100 published abstracts.
